Jack Green. The Andalucian Institute of Historical Heritage (AIHH) has said that the wine route is one of the most impressive in Huelva. They highlighted key features for the route; how it is bordered with Doñana National Park and also how it is in between the ports of Huelva, Seville and Cadiz.
The AIHH are suggesting for tourists to do the route in two ways. By bike, where they can see traditional vineyards, or by car, where they will be able to visit the large industrial winerys. This will show tourists that the region of Huelva has perfect conditions to cultivate vines.
There are different times in the year that you can do the route. In January, the vines are small; in March the vines make the countryside shine; in May the winery finishes breeding the plants; June when the vines start to flower; August when the fruit ripens and finally September, the harvest begins.
At different points of the route the people can discover various points of interest. El Convento de Morañina, la Cruz de la Montañina, el Santo de Remuñana y Majuelo de Soto, the winerys ‘Domecq’, ‘Las Carrionas’, ‘Ramos Chocaíto’ and ‘Clemente Neble’ and many more which can be found in the original story.
As well as being a part of the AIHH, these routes are part of the Ministry for Culture and Sport in Spain and the Board of Andalucia, who hope to bring together and show the different perspectives and approaches to many different areas of the landscape. The aim is to provide a clear understanding of cultural heritage routes and also a better understanding of Andalucia.
