Jack Green. Almonte’s Council has prepared a large programme to take part in La Feria Internacional del Turismo (Fitur) that is being held in Madrid this week. With its own stand situated in the conference centre, the Council has prepared a space so that all of it visitors can get to know the best bits including the local businesses and what they have to offer.
It all starts on Wednesday 22nd January, however Thursday will be the main day when the Tourism Board will give their presentation “Destino Turístico Almonte”. Just after, they’ll present one of their most famous traditions “The Release of the Mares”.
They will also present the project “Journeys of Rocío” and “Almonte Smart Destination”, which is a new mobile app that has been set up with thanks to the Consistory and the School of Industrial Organisation. It will be used to promote the five main journeys of the Pilgrimage to El Rocío.
Almonte’s Councillor Rocío Villa said “In such a small amount of time we have created a tourist image for Almonte. A strong brand, relying on new technologies to publicise the potential of sun, environment, religious tourism, traditional and gourmet food.” All of which Almonte has plenty of to boast about.
The tourism department of Almonte’s Council has prepared extensive promotional activity through social media (Facebook and Twitter), in order to increase its participation and create more interest.
The hashtag #FiturAlmonte has been launched and a total of 100 shirts will be given away with the brand «TurismoAlmonte». To get one, just to show the someone on the stand at the event that you are a follower of Tourism Almonte and comment using the hashtag.
